Third Annual Dancing for Safe Haven Raises Money for Nashville's Homeless Families

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Dancing for Safe Haven, an annual fundraiser for Safe Haven Family Shelter, raised more than $100,000 for Nashville's homeless families last week.

The third annual Dancing for Safe Haven event was held on Friday, April 20 at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. All proceeds raised at the event provide shelter and transitional services to homeless families in the Middle Tennessee area.

The event featured seven Nashville celebrities strutting their stuff with professional dancers provided by Dance World of Nashville. Local celebrities included: Titans Linebacker Gerald McRath, Titans Assistant Special teams Coach Chet Parlavecchio, Spanish TV host Sheyla Paz Hicks,  Bob Tuke, law partner at Traguer & Tuke and adjunct professor at Vanderbilt School of Law; John Steele, senior vice president of human resources at HCA; Deb Varallo, owner and president of Varallo Public Relations; and Bill Vandiver, owner of the Edge Salon and hairdresser to the stars.

Titans cheerleader Jessi Peralta was among the professional dancers paired with the celebrities. She was Vandiver's partner.

Masters of ceremonies were Fox 17's Kelly Sutton and radio personalities Woody Wood and Jim Chandler of 107.5 The River's popular "Woody and Jim" morning show. Dave Roberson, longtime friend of Safe Haven, was honored during the event for his service and dedication to the shelter. Mike and Sharon Pigott were co-chairs of the event.
