NASHVILLE, Tenn --** Titans fans showed their generosity during the regular season home opener at LP Field by donating over $23,000 in supplies to LP PENCIL Box, Nashville's free school supply program.
On Tuesday, Pro Bowl mascot T-Rac joined LP, PENCIL, and Titans staff members to surprise students at Buena Vista Elementary by delivering a portion of the supplies collected at the game. The remaining supplies will be dispersed throughout Metro schools via free teacher shopping trips at LP PENCIL Box.
"We're grateful to LP and the Titans organization for their continued support of this program," said Ulli Heregger, program manager of the LP PENCIL Box. "The generosity of the fans this year was tremendous. The supplies they donated will positively impact many Nashville families who struggle to afford the school materials their children need."
LP PENCIL Box, a collaborative venture between PENCIL Foundation and LP Building Products, offers Metro teachers the opportunity to shop free for school supplies twice per year, benefiting Nashville children in need.
"It is great to be a part of the PENCIL Foundation," said Ashley Gutierrez, corporate affairs coordinator for LP Building Products. "LP PENCIL Box is a wonderful program that helps both teachers and students, building a better future for our community."
The Tennessee Titans have had great success with their annual stadium drives including the collection of food, cell phones, coats, toys and baby products due to the on-going support and generosity of their fans.
