Tight end Craig Stevens signs his new contract Friday at Baptist Sports Park.
NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms today with tight end Craig Stevens on a multi-year contract.

"Craig is one of our young core guys for us. We will continue to see him improve into one of the better combo tight ends in the league," said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. "This deal came together very quickly. He wanted to be a part of what we are building here and this is a deal that was good for both sides."

Entering his fifth season, Stevens has played in 58 games and registered 21 receptions and three touchdowns. He has been a central figure in the Titans run game over the past four seasons, which has seen Chris Johnson gain 5,645 yards and 38 rushing touchdowns.

In 2011, Stevens played in 15 games with 11 starts, while leading the team with an 18.4-yard receiving average (166 yards on nine receptions) and scoring one touchdown.

Stevens caught an 11-yard touchdown in Tennessee's 31-13 victory at Cleveland, and his 58-yard reception late in the fourth quarter against Denver led to the go-ahead touchdown in a 17-14 Titans victory at LP Field. He also registered a 25-yard catch against Cincinnati and a 31-yard reception vs. New Orleans.

The Titans drafted Stevens in the 3rd round of the 2008 NFL Draft from the University of California.
