NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans rookie tackle Jeremiah Poutasi has come a long way in since being drafted back in May.
In Sunday night's preseason game against the Rams, he has a chance to take his biggest step to date.
"It's a huge test. It is definitely an exciting spot to be in,'' Poutasi said. "Every day is a test and there is so much to learn and improve upon. I just want to be a teammate guys can rely on. I just need to keep getting better."
After working with the starters at right tackle on Friday, Poutasi is prepared to start on Sunday at Nissan Stadium. Veteran Byron Bell worked at left guard this week after starting at right tackle last week.
Poutasi, a third-round pick, said he feels he's progressed since the beginning of training camp. He considered himself better vs. the run compared to pass protection at the start of camp, but feels he's made strides in both areas.
"I am way better, and I feel like I've progressed a lot since the first day of camp,'' he said. "I am starting to get in my groove and hopefully I'll be pretty good one day. I just need to be patient. I am so anxious to put my hands on somebody.
"I just turned 21, but I have confidence in myself that I can play in this league."
