NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota was back on the practice field on Thursday in a walk-through session, but he was listed as limited on the Injury Report.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel said the team should have a better idea on his status for Monday's game against the Texans as the week continues. Mariota appears on the report with a 'neck' injury.
"I think that we'll see on Friday as he comes back out," Vrabel said of Mariota. "We'll have to throw the football tomorrow; I don't think we threw the ball much today."
Mariota suffered a stinger in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Colts, and did not return to action. Mariota, who made some throws during the open portion of practice on Wednesday, said a day earlier he's working through some numbness in his right arm as a result of the stinger.
Mariota said the injury isn't related to the elbow injury he suffered earlier in the season, although the symptoms are similar. Mariota was not wearing a glove on his right hand again on Thursday, and he said he has no issues with his grip.
"I am hopeful (things) are trending up," Vrabel said of Mariota's status. "I was pre-med at Ohio State for about six months, and then I changed majors. So I am going to leave that up to the doctors and do my best to listen to them and the trainers."
Mariota was injured late in the first half on Sunday when he was sacked by Colts defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis, and he was replaced by back-up quarterback Blaine Gabbert.
Gabbert guided the Titans to a Week 2 win over the Texans.
"I like both guys," Titans receiver Corey Davis said. "I like Blaine, and Marcus obviously. I have trust in both guys."
Thanksgiving Practice
The Titans practiced indoors on Thursday, but it was a lighter session.
The team will crank things up on Friday and Saturday leading up to Monday's game.
"I think we're trying to take advantage of the extra day, but still get some work in, still do some conditioning and try and get some mental work in," Vrabel said.
Injury Report
Running back David Fluellen (knee) did not practice for the Titans.
Center Ben Jones (shoulder) and receiver Taywan Taylor (foot) were listed as limited, in addition to Mariota.
