Quick Hits From Titans Practice on Wednesday, Including the Return of OLB Harold Landry

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans rookie outside linebacker Harold Landry returned to the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since suffering an ankle injury in the team's third preseason game on August 25 at Pittsburgh.

Landry, the team's second-round pick, worked with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel in one-on-one, fundamental drills at the start of practice.

He was listed as a limited participant on the team's official Injury Report.

Vrabel, speaking broadly about all the players on the team's injury report, discussed what the team might consider when determining whether a player suits up in Sunday's season opener at Miami.

"What you have to do with each and every injury – and they are all different – is you assess where the player is, what the risk factor is for him injuring himself further if he were to come back," Vrabel said. "And at that point and time you say: Can you protect yourself against another football player? And if you can, then you start checking off the boxes and … give them pieces to see if they can handle it."

Evans update

Evans, the team's first round pick, was also limited with a hamstring injury.

He, too, worked with Vrabel before practice.

Evans has participated in a handful of practices since being injured early in camp, and believes he's making improvement.

"The No.1 thing is to be there whenever they need me," Evans said. "I am willing to do whatever the team needs to me to."

Evans said the Titans have been careful not to put him back into action too soon. He said the team learned from the way receiver Corey Davis dealt with his hamstring last season. Davis reinjured his hamstring early in the 2017 season, and missed a good chunk of games as a result.

"We want to make sure this time we do it right," Evans said. "That's the reason they're so overly cautious. They just wanted to make sure that when I come back, I'm 100 percent and ready."

Injury Report

The Titans released their first injury report of the season, and it included five players.

In addition to Landry and Evans, tackle Jack Conklin (knee), and linebacker Derrick Morgan (knee) also appear on the report. All four players practiced on a limited basis.

Safety Kendrick Lewis (foot) is the only player who did not practice.
