Quick Hits from the Titans on Wednesday, Including Brian Orakpo on Team's Mindset

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans have won three straight games, including a win on Sunday against the defending Super Bowl champs.

The following day, Titans coach Mike Vrabel was asked whether the team might be overconfident following a win over the Eagles. Vrabel said he'll do his part to keep that from happening as his team prepares for the 1-3 Buffalo Bills.

On Wednesday, veteran linebacker Brian Orakpo said the team's leadership – and losses to Arizona and San Francisco at the end of last season – will keep the team in check.

"When you have a group of veterans like this team has, we should be fine," Orakpo said. "We are going to carry ourselves as professionals, get ready for the Bills – it's a new challenge, so erase the Philly game. We don't want to worry about the "trap game" and all that other noise that comes with it."

Orakpo said the West Coast trip from last year is still in his mind.

"I remember it, and we never want that to happen again," Orakpo said. "Just getting one of those games would have helped clinch our division last year. We don't want to take anything for granted, being on the road. The Bills have a great tradition in that stadium so we have to be prepared. If not, they'll hit us in the mouth."

Spain's Toss

Titans guard Quinton Spain got so excited after Titans receiver Corey Davis scored the game-winning touchdown on Sunday he picked the football up and threw it into the stands at Nissan Stadium.

The Titans are looking for the football since it was the first regular season touchdown for Davis, and have made it clear they'll give the fan something in return.

Spain said he talked to Davis about it. Spain also threw the football into the stands after Davis scored a touchdown in the playoff game last year at New England, but a fan eventually returned it.

In previous years, Spain was designated as the offensive lineman in charge of giving the ball to fans to raise money for ALS. Each football given away to a fan in previous years was matched with a contribution to ALS.

"Hey man, I was excited," Spain said with a smile on Wednesday. "It was the game-winning touchdown, and everybody was celebrating so I tossed the ball in the stands.

"Most of the time I walk (the ball) to the crowd. But this time I was so excited I just threw it. The adrenaline was rushing and at that moment, I was just excited. I haven't thrown a ball into the crowd this year, but it just hit me."

Injury Report

Titans quarterback Blaine Gabbert practiced on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a concussion vs the Jaguars on September 23.

Vrabel said Gabbert is scheduled to see an independent doctor later today, which could clear him from the concussion protocol. Gabbert was inactive on Sunday vs. the Eagles.

Linebacker Wesley Woodyard (shoulder), safety Kenny Vaccaro (elbow) and tackle Dennis Kelly (illness) did not practice on Wednesday. Davis (illness) was limited in today's practice.

Running back David Fluellen (groin) returned to practice on Wednesday.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota (right elow) remains in the team's Injury Report, but he was a full participant on Wednesday.
