SEATTLE (AP) — It's all about the quarterbacks when the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks open the NFL preseason on Saturday night.
For the Titans, the competition between Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker takes center stage while the three-way battle in Seattle between Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson and Tarvaris Jackson is expected to only feature Flynn and Wilson in the opener.
An added element is the return of Hasselbeck and Locker to the Pacific Northwest. Hasselbeck took Seattle to its lone Super Bowl appearance while Locker was a college standout at Washington. Hasselbeck and Locker say they're excited about the chance to play in front of friends and family.
Hasselbeck will start and remain in for 12 to 15 plays, coach Mike Munchak said.
"Just because of where this game is and it is a preseason game, I think I may soak it in just a little bit more," Hasselbeck said. "Just enjoy the moment and the fact that I'm back there playing against some friends, playing in front of some friends and obviously a place that was really, really special to me and my family."
