NASHVILLE – The Titans are sticking with Mason Rudolph as their starting quarterback.
Coach Brian Callahan said on Tuesday the team plans to start Rudolph once again on Sunday at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"I think he's earned himself another shot to play, and he did a lot of good things in the game," Callahan said. "Obviously the one interception was probably his only really poor moment. The rest of it was pretty well executed on his part and operated in a drop back passing game and had to fight his way back through it. And it was good to see. So we'll let him take another crack at it."
Rudolph replaced Will Levis this past Sunday at Indianapolis, and he completed 23-of-34 passes for 252 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
It will be Rudolph's fifth start of the season.
"Pretty simple: You're playing," Rudolph said of Callahan's message. "I'm excited for another opportunity, have a good week of practice, and go down and play better football."
In seven games this season, including four starts, Rudolph has completed 120-of-188 passes for 1,267 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions, with a 79.8 rating.
In his 11 games this season, Levis has completed 181-of-284 passes for 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, also with a 79.8 rating.
Rudolph will aim to put forth a winning effort on Sunday.
"I think when you look at it, we didn't win, and that is really the only criteria that I look at," Rudolph said of Sunday's game in Indianapolis. "Obviously, why didn't we win? I think I put our defense in a bad spot a couple of times with some turnovers and can't do that. That's not winning football. And so, I'm ready to prove that I can take care of the ball better and keep scoring points."
