NASHVILLE, Tenn. — C.J. Beathard was in the stands at Nissan Stadium during one of the most exciting finishes in team history.

"I was at the game where Vince Young threw to Kenny Britt in the back of the end zone on the last play,'' Beathard recalled on Thursday, referring to the 2009 comeback win, which ended with a 99-yard scoring drive, and the game-winning TD pass. "I've been to a lot of games."

Beathard, who prepped at Battle Ground Academy and played quarterback at Iowa, was one of roughly 20 players who visited Saint Thomas Sports Park on Thursday. It was a day when the team hosted prospects from local schools, and players from the area.

He met with coaches, and threw passes to other prospects while wearing a Titans t-shirt. It wasn't his first time at the facility either. He previously attended joint practices between the Titans and Falcons with his grandfather, former NFL general manager Bobby Beathard.

"It was cool,'' Beathard said. "It was a beautiful day, and it was nice to get out here and meet the coaches and it was nice throwing. Any time I get a chance to show off my arm is good."

The 6-foot-2 Beathard went 21-7 as a starter at Iowa, throwing for 1,929 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2016 after netting 2,809 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in his junior season while playing in a run-based offense.

He's been a busy man since.

Beathard took part in Senior Bowl week practices, and he was also invited to the NFL Combine.

He participated in Pro Day at Iowa, and has worked out for numerous teams since.

Beathard said he wanted to make a good showing for the Titans.

"I know there were some scouts from the Titans at my Pro Day, but I don't know if any of the coaches were there,'' Beathard said. "So I just wanted to show them my arm, and my mechanics, and I think it went well."

The NFL Draft is April 27-29.

Beathard said he's anxious to find out where he'll end up later this month.

"I would love nothing more than to have a chance in my home area,'' Beathard said of the Titans. "It would be a dream if that happened.

"But I am ready to figure out where I'll be and get to moving on that. The whole process has been good, and I feel like I am ready, and can pick up an NFL offense quickly."
