PLAY60 Ambassadors Receive Titans Experience

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Each Tuesday during the regular season, the Tennessee Titans present a program at one of the Metro Nashville Public Middle Schools, spreading the word about NFL PLAY60 and to encourage students to partake in the Fuel Up to PLAY60 and the PLAY60 Challenge programs.

The students are taught various ways they can conduct 60 minutes of physical activity each day and educated about nutritious foods to maintain a healthy diet.

Each school that received a visit during the 2013 season was given the opportunity to select a PLAY 60 Ambassador. Those students were chosen because of their great examples of encouraging students to Fuel Up with healthy foods and be active 60 minutes a day. Those PLAY60 Ambassadors were invited to participate in the special PLAY60 experience at the Titans practice facility on Saturday, Dec. 14 prior to the team hosting the Arizona Cardinals the following day.

Titans staff members, along with representatives from the Southeast Dairy Counsel and the American Heart Association, hosted the selected group of Ambassadors at Saint Thomas Sports Park to congratulate them for their PLAY60 efforts.

The Ambassadors received a special goodie bag that included a Titans PLAY60 jersey and other Titans memorabilia items. The students also received a tour of Saint Thomas Sports Park and enjoyed a portion of the Saturday walk-through practice.

As the practiced concluded, the PLAY60 Ambassadors were able to spend time with some of their favorite Titans, receiving autographs and taking photos of the players. In addition to the Titans experience, the PLAY60 Ambassadors each received two tickets to the Titans-Cardinals game.

THE NFL TITANS "PLAY 60" CAMPAIGN

The Titans "Play 60" initiative encourages youth to get at least sixty minutes of physical activity or play per day in effort to fight childhood obesity. With the help of local non-profit organizations, like Nashville Metro Public Schools, American Heart Association and the National Dairy Council, have enhanced this mission and opportunity to reach out to America's youth.  Since the NFL's Play 60 inception, the NFL has committed more than $100 million to youth health and fitness through programming, media time for public service announcements and grants from Titans Owner K.S. "Bud" Adams' Jr., and his fellow NFL owners and players.  For more information about the NFL's Play 60 campaign please visit http://www.nflrush.com/health.
