NASHVILLE – The Titans hit the field for OTA No.2 on Tuesday at Saint Thomas Sports Park – and this one was open for reporting, so I took a lot of notes

Some observations …

-Tight end Delanie was back on the practice field, and he looked good in drills. While his work was limited, Walker said he felt good as well as he works his way back from the gruesome leg injury he suffered in Week One last year.

"It's always good to get out here with the team," Walker said. "I missed it. … I feel like I am getting back to my old self."

Walker said he dropped a few pounds this offseason to help out with his ankle. Walker estimated he's roughly 85 percent of his Pro Bowl self.

"Today I felt fast getting out of my breaks, and I was catching the ball well," Walker said. "So it was a good sign."

-Defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, who suffered a season ending knee injury in December, was back on the practice field as well, but on a limited basis.

-Tackle Jack Conklin, cornerback Adoree Jackson, tight end Jonnu Smith, defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons and kicker Ryan Succop were among those who did not take part in Tuesday's OTA. Titans coach Mike Vrabel provided no updates on their health, or status, citing the OTAs are voluntary on numerous occasions.

-Receiver Adam Humphries had a busy day. The former Buccaneer is shifty, and catches the ball with ease. He caught a number of balls in Tuesday's session.

-It's not official, but I'm betting running back Dion Lewis caught the most passes in Tuesday's session, mostly on short passes out of the backfield. Running back Derrick Henry was active in the passing game as well.

-Defensive lineman Brent Urban is listed at 6-foot-7, 300 pounds, and the former Baltimore Raven looked every bit of it in the first OTA open to reporters (Monday's session was closed).

-Vrabel said free agent acquisition Rodger Saffold worked with the first group at starting left guard, but he didn't provide any other depth chart nuggets after practice. With Conklin out and the guard spot open beside him, the Titans right side had some alternating pieces in the lineup.

-Quarterback Marcus Mariota was mostly sharp. He connected on a number of nice completions to receiver Corey Davis, and also on a nice ball to Tajae Sharpe. But he was intercepted by cornerback LeShaun Sims on a pass intended for receiver Taywan Taylor.

-Receiver A.J. Brown made a handful of catches, and it's clear Mariota and coaches are spending as much time with the second-round pick as possible in impromptu teaching sessions.

-Safety Kevin Byard was regularly the first defender to the ball as the defense took the field in drills, a routine that carried over from last year's practices.

-Running back David Fluellen looks bigger, and he could be used on a number of roles this fall. He was busy on Tuesday as well.

-There was some sloppiness, which is expected this early in the offseason. On one play, a low snap hit the ground, and when Mariota picked it up he threw it to tight end MyCole Pruitt, who dropped the ball.

-Quarterback Ryan Tannehill made several nice throws, and he moves well. His best ball was a downfield strike to receiver Cameron Batson, who got behind everyone.

-Safety Kenny Vaccaro was active early, and he met Henry in the hole on a running play in the first team period.

-Linebacker Rashaan Evans busted up the middle on what would have been a sack of the red-shirted Mariota.

-Taylor took the handoff on a run to the outside, but rookie safety Amani Hooker showed some nice instincts to meet him on the outside in a hurry.
