NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Music City Miracle made it to NFL Bracketology's round of eight over the weekend but is in a tough matchup to see which play will go to the next round.
Editors of NFL.com formed a selection committee and built a bracket that matched 64 famous plays in league history so fans could crown "The Greatest Play of All Time" through a series of votes.
The Music City Miracle received a No. 1 seed, and the other three No. 1 seeds also remain, but the play began Monday with a large deficit in votes from fans.
**Voting in this round** is scheduled to last through Tuesday, April 2.
The Music City Miracle, arguably the most famous and pivotal play in franchise history, is a kickoff return that was fielded by Lorenzo Neal, handed off to Frank Wycheck and lateralled to Kevin Dyson for a 75-yard touchdown return in the Wild Card of the AFC Playoffs gave Tennessee a 22-16 win and catapulted the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV.
The play is matched against the 67-yard "beast mode" touchdown run by Seattle's Marshawn Lynch against New Orleans in the Wild Card round after the 2010 season. Lynch ran through tacklers and delivered a crushing stiff arm in putting the Seahawks up 41-30 with 3:22 remaining. Seattle won 41-36 in the game that occurred on the 11th anniversary of the Music City Miracle.
The Music City Miracle received 45,338 votes from fans to beat a pass by Minnesota QB Daunte Culpepper that Randy Moss caught 44 yards down field and lateralled to Moe Williams, who streaked 15 yards untouched for a touchdown on Oct. 19, 2003. The Minnesota play received 31,892 votes.
