NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Music City Miracle protected its No. 1 seed in the first round of NFL Bracketology and has a lead in the second round.
Editors of NFL.com formed a selection committee and built a bracket that matched 64 famous plays in league history so fans could crown "The Greatest Play of All Time" through a series of votes.
The Music City Miracle, arguably the most famous and pivotal play in franchise history, received 44,912 votes from fans to beat 16th-seeded James Harrison's 100-yard goal-to-goal interception return for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLIII. Harrison's play received 25,540 votes.
The kickoff that was fielded by Lorenzo Neal, handed off to Frank Wycheck and lateralled to Kevin Dyson for a 75-yard touchdown return in the Wild Card of the AFC Playoffs gave Tennessee a 22-16 win and catapulted the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV.
The Music City Miracle is pitted against an eight seed in the second round: a 32-yard TD pass by Brett Favre to Greg Lewis with two seconds remaining that gave Minnesota a 27-24 win against San Francisco on Sept. 27, 2009.
