NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** Taywan Taylor remembers losing sleep as a kid so he could watch Monday Night Football.

On some Tuesdays, he was so tired he pretended to go to school, before sneaking back inside to go back to bed.

"It's my dirty little secret from mom," Taylor said with a smile. "I'd hide behind the fence, wait until she left to go to work, and then I'd go back inside, get in bed, and catch on the sleep I missed from watching Monday Night Football."

Taylor, in just his sixth game with the Titans, scored his first career touchdown on Monday night at Nissan Stadium, and it was a big one. The third-round pick from Western Kentucky caught a 53-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Marcus Mariota for the team's go-ahead touchdown in a 36-22 win over the Colts.

After the game, Taylor had the ball in his locker.

It's a souvenir he'll keep for the rest of his life.

"It's a blessing to be able to be out here on Monday night, and on the field with all these elite players,'' Taylor said. "Great team, great fans, great city, and I'm happy to be a part of it.

"It's a great moment. It was a great play call by the coaches. I think he called it at the right time. … I didn't know it was coming to me, but I knew it was an option on that play. I kept digging, and Marcus gave me a good ball. The only thing that was going through my mind was catch it and get in the end zone."

Taylor now has seven catches on the season for 133 yards and a touchdown.

Titans coach Mularkey said Taylor rose to the occasion at a big time. The touchdown gave the Titans a 29-22 lead with 5:29 left. A Derrick Henry touchdown run put the Colts to sleep in the final minute.

"Well, it was good because there were a couple others I wish he would've made earlier that might have made it a little easier," Mularkey said of Taylor. "The play was designed to go to Delanie (Walker) and fortunately all four of their guys covered Delanie (Walker) and left Taywan (Taylor) kind of – they just jumped Delanie (Walker) on his out route, and left Taywan open on the deep one. That kind of tells you what people feel about Delanie."

Mariota said the Taylor touchdown was a great call.

"We ended up getting a look that we had wanted in practice and Taywan (Taylor) just did the rest," Mariota said. "He's a guy that is electric, that fast and can do those types of things, he is a huge weapon for you."
