Nashville, Tenn. —Michael Griffin knows what's important during the holiday season.
Griffin, out of his own pocket, hosted a shopping spree and pizza party at the Nike Factory store in Cool Springs for youth from the YMCA Y-CAP program and other young people from throughout the community this past Friday.
Before the shopping began, the Pro Bowl safety addressed the youth and welcomed them to the event. Griffin then personally served slices of pizza and drinks to each young person.
"I was fortunate growing up in a military household," said Griffin. "Being able to give back and see the smiles on the kids' faces means a lot more to me, being able to give than receive."
Titans teammates Akeem Ayers, Karl Klug and Kamerion Wimbley joined Griffin at the event. The players talked with the youth as they excitedly shopped throughout the store. Each young person received $100 dollars and a little advice from the Titans on coordinating socks, shoes and apparel for the best look.
