NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Titans veteran receiver Kevin Walter will miss the first six weeks of the season recovering from back surgery.
The Titans moved the receiver to the physically unable to perform list Tuesday to trim the roster to 75.
Walter signed with the Titans as a free agent but had surgery to repair a disc in his back in July, and he spent the preseason on the physically unable to perform list.
The Titans also waived as injured safety Markelle Martin. The sixth-round draft selection from Oklahoma State last year, Martin started his rookie season on the physically unable to perform list before being placed on injured reserve. He missed most of this preseason with a hamstring injury.
