NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt is scheduled to headline the Academy Sports + Outdoors Titans Caravan on Thursday, May 15, the fourth day of the team's annual trip through the Mid-South.

The day begins with a 3:30 p.m. public autograph signing at Kroger in Bowling Green, Ky. (350 US 31W Bypass).  The head coach then will make a 5:30 p.m. visit to Kroger in White House (510 Highway 76), and the day concludes with a 7:30 p.m. stop at Academy Sports + Outdoors in Madison (2350 Gallatin Pike N.).

Whisenhunt was hired on Jan. 13 as the 17th head coach in franchise history, arriving in Tennessee with 26 years of NFL experience — nine seasons as a player and 17 seasons as a coach.  He owns a résumé that includes six years as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

In 2013, Whisenhunt was the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers.  Under his direction, the Chargers had the NFL's fifth-ranked offense (393.3 yards per game) and the league's top offense on third down (49.0 percent).  Quarterback Philip Rivers' 105.5 passer rating matched the highest rating of his career and placed fourth among NFL signal callers.  For his efforts, Whisenhunt was named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America.

As Cardinals head coach from 2007 through 2012, Whisenhunt won a franchise-record 49 games and led the organization to its first NFC Championship.  After a 12-win season in 2008 — the first of two consecutive NFC West titles—the Cardinals made it to Super Bowl XLIII.

The Augusta, Ga., native is a former walk-on at Georgia Tech.  Following his time playing tight end for the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins and New York Jets, he got his start in coaching as an assistant at Vanderbilt University from 1995 to 1996.  He was on the Pittsburgh Steelers coaching staff from 2001 through 2006, spending the first three seasons as tight ends coach and the final three campaigns as offensive coordinator.

Academy Sports + Outdoors Titans Caravan public stops are free events that allow fans to meet players, T-Rac and the "Voice of the Titans" Mike Keith.  Posters are provided at no cost to all Caravan attendees for autographs, and photos are encouraged.  Public stops generally last one hour. Titans Caravan began in 1998 as a small effort to spread goodwill through the region. Today, seven full-time staffers travel with Titans players and T-Rac through the Mid-South on a specially-decorated motor coach.  Since 1998, the Caravan has made over 800 stops and allowed the team to interact directly with an estimated audience well in excess of 150,000 fans.
