NASHVILLE, Tenn. —** Jake Locker said Monday that he's "feeling great" and his surgically repaired left shoulder has been cleared for basically "everything besides getting hit."
Locker participated in his first full-fledged media session of 2013 on the same day Titans players reported to Baptist Sports Park for the team's offseason conditioning program. Locker said he's worked on improving his range of motion in his non-throwing shoulder and regaining strength. He said he does not anticipate anything hindering his participation in football drills when the Titans advance to that part of the program.

Locker already has been at the team facility for rehab and treatment sessions during the offseason, but said it was nice to reunite with past teammates, welcome new players and coaches and begin work on a more favorable outcome than in 2012 when Tennessee finished 6-10.
"It's a great group of guys," Locker said. "I think we put a great staff together, one that everybody's excited to work with, so there's a lot of enthusiasm today, a lot of excitement. I'm looking forward to that continuing throughout the offseason."
Tennessee promoted Dowell Loggains to offensive coordinator after he started last season as quarterbacks coach, moved Dave Ragone from receivers coach to QBs coach and signed Ryan Fitzpatrick after releasing 2011 starter and 2012 backup Matt Hasselbeck.
Locker said he will miss Hasselbeck, who signed with Indianapolis, but looks forward to working with Fitzpatrick. Locker said he wants and expects a challenge from the nine-year veteran that will make both players better.
"(Matt and I) had a great relationship, but there was an understanding that we were both going to try and be the guy every day," Locker said. "If you don't have that in the room, you don't have the right mix of guys. Whether one guy is the starter or not, you're pushing the other guy to be better than maybe he thought he could be. I would have been upset if they had brought a guy in here that didn't expect to play, that didn't want to play because it would give me an opportunity to fall short of maybe what I was capable of."
Tennessee added physical running back Shonn Greene, versatile tight end Delanie Walker and consistent receiver Kevin Walter during free agency as well as highly-sought guard Andy Levitre, and interior offensive linemen Chris Spencer and Rob Turner.
"We've brought in some veteran guys that have been in different places and been successful in different places," Locker said. "I think bringing in that experience and that knowledge in different position groups is what I'm talking about, in terms of having success, knowing what it takes to stay in this league and be successful in this league for an extended career. I think we've found some guys that have been able to do that."
Locker said in addition to continuing his shoulder rehab, he wants to work on his footwork and improve his ability to throw the ball with "noise in front of me."
"I wasn't as consistent as I wanted to be with that last year and that needs to improve, and find ways to get completions and keep drives moving," Locker said.
When asked if the Titans are "his team" going into his third NFL season, Locker said, "I'm going to give everything I can to be the best leader. I want it to be (my team). I don't think it's something that you ask for; it's something that you earn, so I guess I wouldn't be the one to tell you that."
