NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Heimerdinger Foundation is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Drive 4 Dinger Celebrity Golf Tournament and "Kickoff" Silent Auction Casino Party.
These events, which honor the life of longtime NFL coach and former Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger (who lost his battle with cancer in 2011), benefit Meals2Heal, the Foundation's core program. Meals2Heal provides healthy, nourishing and delicious meals free of charge for people undergoing treatments for cancer.
The Kickoff Silent Auction Casino Party will be held from 7–11 p.m. on Friday, June 28, at aVenue in Nashville. Plans for the Friday night kickoff event include a "red carpet" with celebrity sightings, casino party, silent auction and dinner stations.
The Drive 4 Dinger Celebrity Golf Tournament starts at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. Twenty-five celebrities will lead their foursomes in the golf tournament. The celebrities that are expected to attend include: Jeff Fisher, former Titans and current St. Louis Rams head coach, and Mike Shanahan, the head coach of the Washington Redskins. Golfers will be treated to complimentary food and drinks on the course and an awards reception, as well as multiple contests.

The Heimerdinger Foundation's mission is to enable families affected by cancer to have the necessary information, patient support, and resources to seek out effective treatment options. Because having nourishing meals can make a vital difference to cancer patients undergoing treatment, Meals2Heal utilizes local chefs and a team of volunteers to deliver wholesome and delicious meals, and also counsels clients on the difference that quality food can make in their healing.
