NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Titans star safety Michael Griffin will host a celebrity fundraiser at Cantina Laredo in The Gulch on Mon., Sept. 24, at 7 p.m.
The event will benefit Michael Griffin's Sacks 4 Kids program, which provides bags of healthy foods and snacks to disadvantaged kids in Metro High Schools to take home on the weekends. These bags are given discreetly to kids who come from dire home circumstances that prevent them from having access to nutritious meals at home. The program is operated in conjunction with "Packed With Love," a local non-profit organization.
The event, titled "Cantina for a Cause" will give attendees the opportunity to mix and mingle with their favorite Titans players, all while sampling Cantina Laredo's famous margaritas and Mexican cuisine. The event will also feature a live and silent auction filled with unique memorabilia and experiences.
"I am very excited to host my first charity fundraiser," said Griffin, a two-time Pro Bowler entering his sixth season with the Titans. "It will be a fun night, and we hope to raise a lot of money for the Sacks 4 Kids program. Being an athlete, I know how important nutrition is to having the energy to do my job. I am determined to help those kids here in Nashville who are going hungry get the nutrition they need."
Tickets to the event are $50, and include free food and beverages.
