Nashville, Tenn. – Titans safety Michael Griffin is continuing his quest to conquer hunger amongst disadvantaged Metro Nashville high school students.
In late September, operating in conjunction with local non-profit "Packed With Love," Griffin's "Sacks 4 Kids" program held a successful charity event raising more than $15,000 toward their efforts.
Inspired and ready to tackle the issue, the Pro Bowl safety has even more in mind. During the 2012 season, fans can order the "Michael Griffin Special," from participating Nashville area Papa John's locations.
The "Michael Griffin Special" offer includes one large two-topping pizza and a 2-liter for $11. One dollar from every order will go toward the "Sacks 4 Kids" program. Fans can order this special online at www.papajohns.com using promo code 11Griffin. In addition, Papa John's also offers fans 50 percent off their regularly priced menu items that are ordered online the day after each Titans win using promo code Titans50.
Determined to aid students in need Griffin's program provides sacks of healthy food every Friday to children of inner city Nashville schools who receive free and reduced lunch so they have food for the weekend.
About Sacks 4 Kids
With the help of Griffin, "Sacks 4 Kids" works with local schools and after-school programs to distribute backpacks full of healthy snacks for low-income children to take home over the weekend.
These children are on free or reduced lunch and the meals they receive at school are often the only full meal they eat each day. Over the weekends, when they do not have access to school lunches, they frequently go without the nutritious foods that give them the energy they need.
This school year, Dream Builders and Griffin will provide at least 100 kids in Nashville with these backpacks every week. The program will feed kids at select schools in Nashville for as many weeks possible during the 2012-13 school year.
