CHRIS JOHNSON ONE YARD SHORT OF 100 Chris Johnson gained 99 yards on 21 carries against the Colts for an average of 4.7 yards per attempt. He has recorded more than 90 rushing yards in four out of the last five games.
HASSELBECK HAS EFFICIENT DAY: Matt Hasselbeck completed 22 of 29 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions for a passer rating of 110.7. He recorded his 20th career regular-season game with a passer rating of 110 or greater. His teams are now 16-4 when he reaches the mark.
HASSELBECK GETS TO 200 TD PASSES: In the second quarter, Matt Hasselbeck's 23-yard touchdown pass to Kendall Wright was the quarterback's 200th career touchdown pass. He became the 32nd player in NFL history to reach 200 career touchdown passes.
INTERCEPTION FOR GRIFFIN: In the third quarter, safety Michael Griffin notched his 18th career interception (first of 2012), picking off an Andrew Luck pass in the end zone that was intended for Reggie Wayne. Griffin is now tied with current assistant secondary coach Steve Brown for 16th on the franchise's all-time interception list.
AYERS SACK: In the third quarter, linebacker Akeem Ayers notched his fourth career sack and his second sack of 2012, dropping Andrew Luck for a seven-yard loss.
WRIGHT'S THIRD TOUCHDOWN: Late in the first half, rookie wide receiver Kendall Wright scored his third career touchdown on a 23-yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck.
BLOCKED FIELD GOAL FOR GRIFFIN: Michael Griffin blocked Adam Vinatieri's 37-yard field goal as time expired in the first half. The blocked field goal was the first of Griffin's career and the first by a Titans player since Jacob Ford's block against Jacksonville on Dec. 5, 2010.
WIMBLEY AND MORGAN SHARE A SACK: Late in the second quarter, defensive ends Derrick Morgan and Kamerion Wimbley teamed to sack Andrew Luck for a four-yard loss. It gave Morgan 2.5 sacks this season—tying his 2011 total for a career high—and 6.5 sacks in his career. Wimbley has 2.5 sacks in 2012 and 45 in his career.
LONG SCORING DRIVE: The Titans' first scoring drive of the game, which took seven minutes and 25 seconds and resulted in a Rob Bironas field goal, was the team's longest scoring series of the season with regard to time. It topped their seven-minute, 13-second touchdown drive at Buffalo on Oct. 21.
TITANS SCORE ON FIRST DRIVE: On their opening drive of the game, the Titans scored on a 39-yard field goal by Rob Bironas. It marked the third game in a row they scored on their opening drive, following a field goal against the Steelers on Oct. 11 and a touchdown at Buffalo on Oct. 21. They scored in one additional first drive in 2012, a field goal against the Patriots on Sept. 9.
BIRONAS KICKS NO. 200: In the first quarter, Rob Bironas gave the Titans a 3-0 lead with a 39-yard field goal. In doing so, he joined Al Del Greco as the only players in franchise history to reach 200 career field goals. Bironas added a 30-yarder in the fourth quarter.
WASHINGTON EXTENDS STREAK: With a 10-yard reception in the first quarter, wide receiver Nate Washington extended his streak of consecutive games with at least one reception to 70 (56 games with the Titans). Washington led the team with five receptions and 69 receiving yards against the Colts.
TITANS LOSE TWO OFFENSIVE LINEMEN ON SAME PLAY: Less than seven minutes into the game, right tackle David Stewart and right guard Leroy Harris simultaneously had to be helped off the field by trainers. Each was diagnosed with a right knee injury. Byron Stingily entered in relief of Stewart, while Kevin Matthews relieved Harris. Stewart came back into the game on the next series, but Harris did not return. The Titans already were without starting left tackle Michael Roos.
ROOS' STREAK ENDS: For the first time in his eight-year career, Titans tackle Michael Roos did not start. He was inactive against the Colts due to the emergency appendectomy he underwent on Monday, Oct. 22. Roos' streak of 119 consecutive starts ranked second among all NFL tackles (Jeff Backus, 181) entering the week's games.
STEWART REACHES 100: While Titans left tackle Michael Roos missed a game for the first time in his career, the team's right tackle, David Stewart, played in and started his 100th career game. Roos (second round) and Stewart (fourth round) were both selected by the Titans in the 2005 NFL Draft.
OTTO MAKES THIRD CAREER START: With Michael Roos missing the first game of his career, fifth-year veteran Mike Otto recorded the third start of his career and his first at left tackle. Otto, a seventh-round pick in 2007 from Purdue, recorded previous starts as an extra tight end (Nov. 21, 2010) and at right tackle (Nov. 27, 2011).
WITHERSPOON'S STREAK ENDS AS WELL: In addition to Michael Roos, the Titans had another player end a long consecutive games streak against the Colts. Linebacker Will Witherspoon played in 117 consecutive NFL regular-season contests before missing the Colts game with a hamstring injury. As a member of the Carolina Panthers, St. Louis Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Titans, he had not missed a game since Sept. 25, 2005.
FIRST TITANS GAME FOR WILSON AND ADIBI: The Titans made a pair of additions to their 53-man roster in the days leading up to the game, and both played against the Colts. Safety Tracy Wilson, called up off the Titans practice squad, and Xavier Adibi, signed during the week as a free agent, both contributed on special teams.
INACTIVES: The Titans' seven inactive players against the Bills were quarterback Jake Locker, left tackle Michael Roos, cornerback Tommie Campbell, linebacker Patrick Bailey, linebacker Will Witherspoon, guard Deuce Lutui and defensive tackle DaJohn Harris. Locker missed his fourth consecutive game with a left (non-throwing) shoulder injury.
