PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Titans are preparing to hit the road for joint practices during training camp.
Coach Brian Callahan said from the NFL owners meetings on Monday morning he's talked with two teams about holding joint practices away from Nashville in back-to-back weeks in August.
Callahan declined to name the teams because the arrangements have not officially been approved by the NFL. The request has been put in with the league, and the teams involved are waiting to hear back.
"The plan is to do joint practices," Callahan said. "We haven't gotten the schedule yet, but the league is usually accommodating when you request those things. The plan is to do hopefully two."
Last summer the Titans held joint practices with the Seattle Seahawks at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park before a preseason game between the two teams.
In 2023, the Titans hosted the Patriots for joint practices in Nashville while also taking part in joint practices with the Vikings in Minnesota. In 2022, the team traveled to Tampa to practice against the Buccaneers.
If approved, the practices will take place leading up to preseason games with the two teams, and the Titans would stay on the road for roughly nine consecutive days in camp.
"The idea is to spend more time as a team, to be able to get out of the day-to-day at (Acension) Saint Thomas (Sports Park) and change up our scene," Callahan said. "I think that part is going to be productive for us, foster a little bit of a connection."
The NFL schedule is expected to be released in May.
