NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Honoring those who serve our nation, the Tennessee Titans are proud to announce that Master Sgt. John Reed, a Special Forces Operations Sergeant stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., has been selected to announce the Tennessee Titans' 2013 fourth-round draft choice.

Reed will travel to New York City and enjoy three days of NFL Draft festivities before introducing the Titans' fourth-round pick on Saturday afternoon at Radio City Music Hall.

"It's an honor to represent the Titans and it's an honor to represent the 5th Special Forces group," Master Sgt. Reed said. "I'm excited to get back to New York. I haven't been there since I went to Afghanistan. I get to bring my wife, which is a great treat. She's excited to see the sights and sounds of New York. We're definitely going to get down there to the World Trade Center and take a look at that."

Reed has served in the Army for 22 years, and has six deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. Reed has shown superior leadership and achievements within the 5th Special Forces Group and was a member of one of the first teams to deploy in the wake of the tragedies on Sept. 11, 2001.

Within hours of the terrorist attacks, Reed and soldiers from the group, also known as The Legion, were deployed in support of the Global War on Terror. From October 2001 through April 2002, members of his unit conducted unconventional warfare against Taliban and Al Qaeda forces. In less than six months, the 5th SFG (A), a regimental-sized force, effectively destroyed the popular base of the Taliban government and toppled the terrorist-sponsoring state of Afghanistan.

Reed trained at Fort Bragg, N.C. in 1999, where he earned his Special Forces Tab following graduation from the Special Forces Qualification Course.

Master Sgt. Reed joins Titans' fan Josh Curd, who won a Titans Draft video contest last year, as honorary announcers of the club's fourth-round pick.

The Titans own the 10th overall selection and nine total picks in the upcoming 2013 NFL Draft, which begins April 25.
