NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Albert Haynesworth will be back at Nissan Stadium tonight for the first time since his playing days.
Only this time, he'll be there as a dad, watching his son play at halftime.
Albert Haynesworth IV is a 10-year-old defensive end who plays for the Spring Hill Hawks, one of four teams scheduled to play a seven-minute scrimmage at the half of Saturday's Titans-Chargers game.
"He's about 4-foot-10, and he weighs about 100 pounds,'' Haynesworth said of his son, nicknamed Avery. "But he's real quick, and he's real fast. It's going to be cool to see him out there."
Haynesworth, a first-round pick by the Titans in 2002 after playing at the University of Tennessee, played from 2002-08 with the Titans, and was named to two Pro Bowls. He played with the Redskins in 2009-10 before finishing his career with the Patriots and Buccaneers.
Haynesworth said he's never been to Nissan Stadium to see a game.
He's looking forward to tonight. For those headed to the game, little Haynesworth will be in No.27.
"This will be the first time to ever sit in the stands,'' Haynesworth said. "It's going to be amazing. He is my football player. If he continues to learn and play like he is, he could play in high school and college and hopefully the NFL one day.
"It will be exciting to see another Haynesworth on a Titans field. I hope he makes some plays."
