NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Counterfeit tickets to the November 4th game between the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears are already beginning to show up in the Nashville area despite the contest being more than a week away.
One fan who this week bought what she initially believed were two valid full page computer generated tickets with ticketmaster markings for $125 each decided to check their authenticity at the Titans Ticket Office, only to learn they were fakes. Given the already high demand for tickets to the sold-out Titans-Bears game, counterfeiting is expected to be an issue over the next several days.
The Nashville Police Department and the Tennessee Titans remind football fans that the best way to avoid being scammed is to buy tickets from family or friends that they know well, or from the NFL's official ticket resale platform, NFL Ticket Exchange.
Persons who buy tickets on the street or from strangers do so at their own risk.
Undercover Metro police officers will be on the streets game day specifically looking for persons trying to victimize fans by selling counterfeit tickets. Offenders can expect to be arrested.
