Finding Titans GM Jon Robinson During the Pro Day Circuit is Like Thumbing Through a 'Where's Waldo?' Book

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Finding Titans General Manager Jon Robinson this time of year is like thumbing through a "Where's Waldo?' book.

You never know where he might end up.

"I love this time of year," said Robinson, who has been spotted at a number of Pro Days this month. "Getting out and hitting a lot of these schools, it's been great. I've been to several over the last week and have a couple of more on the docket."

On Tuesday, Robinson wrapped up work at the NFL owners meetings here at The Breakers Resort.

On Wednesday, Robinson is scheduled to be in Knoxville, Tennessee, for Pro Day at the University of Tennessee.

Nine Volunteers are scheduled to participate in Wednesday's Pro Day: defensive lineman Ja'Quain Blakely, defensive lineman Matthew Butler, defensive back Kenneth George Jr., defensive back Theo Jackson, wide receiver Velus Jones Jr., offensive lineman Cade Mays, wide receiver JaVonta Payton, walk-on linebacker Donovan Slates and defensive back Alontae Taylor.

"I'll be at the Big Orange on Wednesday," Robinson said. "I'll be there to see those guys, coach (Josh) Heupel. Hopefully he doesn't move the drills as quickly as he does the offense running plays, so it gives us enough time to watch those guys work. He's done a great job with that program it looks like from the outside looking in, getting them back on the right track."

Robinson has been all over the map to prepare for the NFL Draft, scheduled for April 28-30.

The Titans are scheduled to make seven picks in this year's draft, including the 26th overall pick in the first round.

So, where has Robinson been so far?

Well, he said he's been to Pro Days at Iowa and Northern Iowa, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Penn State and Boston College.

"Coach (Jimbo) Fisher and his program down there (at Texas A&M) they have some outstanding players," Robinson said. "It was good to spend time with those players, good to see them work.

"Coach (Ryan) Day has done an outstanding job with that football team at Ohio State, and they perennially put out a lot of guys that go in the early round and it looks like that is going to be the case again this year.

"Coach (James) Franklin has a lot of good players (at Penn State)," Robinson continued. "He's done a great job, and they have a lot of good players. It was good to spend time with a lot of those guys the night before (the Pro Day) and visit, and then got to work those guys out the next day.

"And then B.C., Coach (Jeff) Hafley and those guys have done a great job with that B.C. program, and I spent time with those guys up there, a bunch of linemen up there."

Titans coach Mike Vrabel, meanwhile, has attended Pro Days at Ohio State and Cincinnati. Vrabel said he also visited and spoke to players at Georgia when he was on campus in Athens last week, and "some of those visits will continue," he said.

"I would say all of the workouts that we were able to see this past week were productive for us," Robinson said, "as we start to hone in on the decision-making and trying to finalize the draft board as we inch closer to the end of April."
