NASHVILLE – The Titans selected Ole Miss linebacker Chance Campbell in the sixth round of Saturday's NFL Draft.
Campbell was taken with the 219th overall pick, which was Tennessee's final pick in the 2022 draft.
Campbell (6-2, 240), who played from 2018-2020 at Maryland before playing the 2021 season with the Rebels, thinks he's found a good spot with the Titans.
"I'm learning (about the Titans), quickly," Campbell said. "I know from being in Oxford for a short time, the Titans are the closest team to Oxford, so I started paying close attention.
"I know that it's a great defense, and they have a great culture. It is something I am excited to be a part of and I want to help in any way I can."
In his lone season at Ole Miss, Campbell had a breakout year, notching 109 tackles, six sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
Campbell appeared in 25 games, with six starts, at Maryland, where he earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors in 2020 as a junior after leading the team with 43 tackles and 5.5 tackles for a loss in just four games.
Campbell said Titans coach Mike Vrabel called him to give him the news on Saturday afternoon.
"It was kind of wild," Campbell said. "(Vrabel) told me he was excited for me to get there, and I told him I'm super-excited to be a part of it. I just can't wait – this is the biggest dream I've ever had. I'm having a hard time getting words out because I am smiling so big."
