Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas and Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henryare the nominees for the PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for Week 17, the NFL announced today.
Henry led the Titans with 15 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown against the Texans. His yardage total set a new career high, which was previously 60 yards against Jacksonville on Oct. 27 and at Chicago on Nov. 27.
Henry became the third rookie for the franchise in the "Titans era" to score at least five touchdowns in a season, joining Vince Young (seven rushing touchdowns in 2006) and Chris Johnson (nine rushing and one receiving in 2008).
Fans can vote for one of these five players on www.nfl.com/rookies through Friday at 3 PM ET to determine the PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK. The PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEKwill be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January.
This is Pepsi's 15th year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the 14th year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.
