NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Darius Reynaud's successes as a kick returner in 2012 have given him the opportunity to return to the Titans in 2013.

The Titans and Reynaud agreed to a one-year contract Thursday.
Reynaud spent all of 2011 out of football but claimed a roster spot with Tennessee after a strong preseason in 2012 and an unfortunate injury to 2010 Pro Bowler Marc Mariani. Reynaud felt bad that Mariani suffered the broken leg but focused on keeping himself healthy and getting past hamstring issues that had hampered him. Reynaud incorporated Pilates workouts to his routine and ran through the door that opened.
Reynaud played an integral role in all four special teams return touchdowns by the Titans last season, punctuating the year by becoming the first player in franchise history to return two punts for touchdowns in one game in the season finale against Jacksonville. Reynaud gave the Titans a 21-14 halftime lead against the Jaguars with a 69-yard return and followed with an even more improbable 81-yard return in the third quarter (click here to see it again).
The dramatic plays helped Reynaud set a single-game franchise record with 160 punt return yards on the day. Reynaud's 13.2 average per punt return is the fourth highest mark for a season in franchise history.
Reynaud's 1,240 kickoff return yards are the third most in a season in franchise history behind Mariani (1,530 in 2010) and Bobby Jancik (1,317 in 1963), and he logged the franchise's third-most kickoff return yards in a game (174 against Detroit) in a performance highlighted by his franchise-record 105-yard kickoff return for a touchdown (click here to see it again).
Reynaud also fielded a punt and made an accurate lateral across the field to Tommie Campbell, who streaked 65 yards for a touchdown against the Lions. The play became known as the "Music City Miracle Throwback" or a remix of the most famous play in franchise history.
The dynamic game by Reynaud led him to be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.
Last season Reynaud added 16 rushes for 33 yards and five receptions for 35 yards in a limited role on offense. He played receiver in college at West Virginia, played 2008-09 with Minnesota and 2010 with the New York Giants.
