Rob Bironas joined Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen and Make-A-Wish children to greet Santa. |
Bironas was recently named the honorary chair for the 10th Anniversary of the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and was asked to join the Governor to greet Santa on his visit to the Capitol.
Santa Claus has been touring the country visiting Make-A-Wish children since he departed from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. On Santa's visit to Nashville, he was delighted at the greeting he received from Bironas and Governor Bredesen. The two led Make-A-Wish kids, who have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions, in delivering wish lists and holiday letters to the Jolly Old Elf.
Lea Anne Campbell, CEO for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee, said how much this opportunity meant to the children who participated and their families.
"Hope and joy form the essence of the holiday season," said Campbell. "These children have been through so much in terms of their medical treatments, and the opportunity to spend some time with their favorite player, to meet the governor, and to visit with Santa bring them that hope and joy when it is most needed in their lives."
In addition, Bironas is reminding fans to for his Music Mobile project competing in the Pepsi Refresh competition until the end of December to help Bironas and the Symphony win a $250,000 grant. Funding will go toward outfitting and operating the Nashville Symphony's Music Mobile, a musical field trip on wheels for Middle Tennessee youth.
