NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Titans report for training camp later this month.

It will be the first time rookies put on pads in the NFL.

But first, I'm going to share a few quick thoughts on the draft picks from what I've seen so far in the rookie minicamp, 10 organized team activities and the team's minicamp…

Receiver Corey Davis (First round, fifth overall)**

After being held back during the early portion of the offseason, Davis turned in an eye-opening finish. He showed strong hands while snatching footballs out of the air, and he looked explosive when he turned upfield. I'm looking forward to seeing him in pads.

Cornerback Adoree' Jackson (First round, 18th overall)

Jackson reminds me a lot of Pacman Jones from an athletic standpoint. He attacks the ball in flight while in coverage, and during one of the OTAs I saw him catch a punt one-handed with the same motion he'd dunk a basketball.

Receiver Taywan Taylor (Third round, 72nd overall)**

Was consistent from beginning to end during the offseason. He looks like a perfect fit in the slot, and already he's gained the trust of the quarterbacks. The Titans didn't sign Eric Decker because Taylor was struggling, but I am curious to see how much Decker's addition will impact Taylor's snaps.

Tight end Jonnu Smith (Third round, 100th overall)

He's lived up to his reputation as a natural catcher of the football. Smith worked at a number of positions, and he'll have a chance to get some playing time early if he stays on track.

Linebacker Jayon Brown (Fifth round, 155th overall)**

Fast. That's how defensive coaches described him during the offseason, and it's how he looked. Because of his size, Brown might not fight off blockers with ease. But he should be able to run around them, and keep up in coverage.

Offensive lineman Corey Levin (Sixth round, 217th overall)

Levin said his head was spinning at the start of the offseason, but he appeared to settle down while working at center. He'll be in a competition with others, so he'll need to hold his own in the trenches.

Linebacker Josh Carraway (Seventh round, 227th overall)

Flashed more at the end of the offseason, especially on one rush vs. Taylor Lewan. With more work, he looked more fluid in his rush attempts. But he's going to have to prove he can hold up physically – and prove he can hold an edge -- when the pads come in in camp.

Offensive lineman Brad Seaton (Seventh round, 236th overall)**

This guy shouldn't have a problem with the physical aspect of the game. At 6-foot-8, 311 pounds, he's plenty big. I'm anxious to see if he can establish himself enough to stick as a depth guy during camp.

Running back Khalfani Muhammad (Seventh round, 241st overall)

I used fast to describe Brown, so I'll go "elusive" here. It's been fun watching Muhammad bounce in and out of traffic, and then turn on the speed. He'll have to be strong in other areas to stick, because David Fluellen is no slouch behind backs DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry.
