Biography
PRO: The Titans signed John Ojukwu as a rookie free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-5-inch, 309-pound offensive lineman brings size and power to the position. He started the final three games of his rookie season at jumbo tight end. The Boise, Idaho native played in 56 games with 51 starts, including 18 at right tackle and 33 at left tackle, over six seasons at Boise State.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Ojukwu ended his Boise State career with 43 consecutive starts. He was named a team captain and All-Mountain West first team selection his senior year.
TITANS TIDBITS:
• As a junior in high school, Ojukwu weighed only 185 pounds. Knowing that he needed to gain weight to have a chance in college, he ate large amounts of food and constantly worked out. He gained close to 100 pounds in nine months with a diet that included a daily gallon of milk and sometimes whole pizzas.
• In high school, Ojukwu interned for Boise State University's sports performance department.
CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Boise, Idaho native was signed by the Titans as a rookie free agent on May 12, 2023.
• Waived by the Titans on Aug. 29, 2023 and signed to the team's practice squad the next day.
• Signed by the Titans to the active roster from the practice squad on Dec. 23, 2023.
COLLEGE:
• Played in 56 games with 51 starts over six seasons (2017-22) at Boise State. He made 18 starts as a right tackle during his first two seasons before transitioning to left tackle to start 33 games in his final three seasons. Ended his career with 43 consecutive starts.
• As a graduate (2022), Ojukwu was the only Bronco to start all 14 games on offense. He allowed zero sacks, had zero false starts and zero holding penalties. Was named a team captain and selected to the All-Mountain West first team.
• As a senior (2021), started all 12 games at left tackle. Was named to the All-Mountain West first team.
• As a junior (2020), started all seven games at left tackle. Was named to the All-Mountain West second team.
• As a sophomore (2019), started all 11 games at right tackle. Provided protection for a Bronco offense that ranked 14th in the country in scoring (36.8 ppg).
• As a redshirt freshman (2018), appeared in 12 games, making seven starts at right tackle. Part of a Bronco line that produced a 1,000-yard rusher for the 10th-straight season. Provided protection at right tackle for Mountain West Player of the Year Brett Rypien, as the Bronco passing offense ranked 18th in the country (292.0 ypg).
• As a freshman (2017), redshirted.
• Graduated with a degree in kinesiology from Boise State in December 2022.
PERSONAL:
• Attended Boise State (Idaho) High School and became a varsity starter as a sophomore, playing both ways as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman. Also lettered in wrestling and track.
• Earned first-team All-State and All-Conference honors as a senior in 2016. Rated a three-star recruit according to Scout and 247sports.
• Played in the East-West Shrine All-Star game following his senior season.
