Did you know that they were going to try to – that this was going to be a big game for you? Just because they you know, the forced Joe (Flacco) to throw it a lot.
I knew they had the number one total defense. And they said they didn't give up a lot of explosive plays. So, I wouldn't say I knew know was going to be a big game for me, but I knew that I was going to have opportunities either way. And just like other guys on the team were going to have an opportunity as well. But yeah, the cards just fell that way today.
When you were dealing with your thing, (Michael) Pitt(man Jr.) was obviously playing through a lot, what do you take away from just watching the guy show that kind of toughness? Do other guys feed off that?
Yeah. I mean, you saw the injury report. We got a whole lot of guys playing banged up. But yeah, the fact that Pitt is out there playing right now is a huge testament to his toughness and kind of the character of this team. Yeah, but a lot of guys playing banged up. And I mean, that's what you got to do at this level. We just got to keep going.
So, you're dealing with that this week, too. What was it like trying to work through a little bit of a toe issue to make this happen today?
I mean, I didn't practice. So, I was dealing with a little something for sure. It was fine, I was able to go. All good.
How important were the punt returns?
I knew I was going to get some of those today as well. The first one I should have actually took back to the house, but I got tripped up. Yeah, I knew I was going to get some punt returns and it was a good return game as well.
The deke, you put on the bouncing ball where you kind of made it look like you weren't going to take it, then picked it up and got past that guy. Where'd you learn that deke?
I've done punt returns since college, so me doing that is just something I really asked to do. The first game I came back, I told them I wanted to do punt returns again just to get an extra touch. And basically, they said, 'Okay,' They trust me. They put me back there and today it paid off.
And obviously you still wanted to do it even with the toe?
Yeah, I mean, I really had no choice. (Anthony) Gould wasn't active today. So, I didn't really have a choice.
Is it one of those things where you feel like if I'm going, I'm going no matter what?
Yeah, if I'm going to go out there, I'm not even trying to be limited. I'm trying to play.
