NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans have signed safety Robert Johnson to the 53-man roster from the team's practice squad and placed veteran safety Anthony Smith on injured reserve.
Johnson was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in the 2010 NFL Draft from Utah. He was on the Titans active roster last year, but didn't appear in a game.
The Titans also added cornerback Terrence Wheatley to the practice squad. Wheatley (5-9, 185) was originally a second-round pick out of Colorado by the New England Patriots in the 2008 Draft. He spent two seasons with the Patriots.
