NASHVILLE – The Titans have made moves to retain two of their own players – running back Julius Chestnut and linebacker Jack Gibbens.
Chestnut returns to the team on a one-year deal, while the team has tendered Gibbens as an exclusive rights free agent.
On Thursday, Gibbens officially signed his tender.
An undrafted free agent from Sacred Heart, Chestnut's 2023 season was cut short in Week 3 because of a season-ending hamstring injury.
Over his first two NFL seasons, Chestnut has played in nine games – six games in 2022, and the first three contests in 2023. Chestnut got hurt in Cleveland last season while playing on special teams, where he's mostly made his mark the first two seasons, including work returning kickoffs. Chestnut, who has nine career carries for 12 yards, has flashed in preseason games with extended playing time.
Gibbens, meanwhile, has played in 19 games, with 15 starts, over the past two seasons. He's tallied 119 career tackles with seven quarterback pressures, four passes defensed, three tackles for a loss and one interception.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota, Gibbens played in 14 games, with 13 starts, for the Titans in 2023 and he tallied 92 tackles with seven quarterback pressures, three tackles for a loss and three passes defensed.

Murray has played in 59 games, with 53 starts, and he's tallied 321 tackles, five sacks, 10 passes defensed, two interceptions and one forced fumbles over the past four seasons.
