Titans Scheduled to Pick 11th in 2023 NFL Draft

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. on Monday discussed Tennessee's draft class, from first-round pick Peter Skoronski to seventh-round pick Colton Dowell of Tennessee-Martin.

The draft picks are in, six of them in all. And now, so are the draft grades. Let's take a look at how some of the analysts graded the 2023 NFL Draft for the Titans.

On Saturday, the Titans drafted Cincinnati tight end Josh Whyle in the fifth round, Maryland offensive lineman Jaelyn Duncan in the sixth round and Tennessee-Martin receiver Colton Dowell in the seventh round to close out the draft.

In his final season at UT-Martin in 2022, Dowell caught 67 passes for 1,036 yards and six touchdowns. Dowell had six 100-yard games in 2022, including a seven-catch, 112-yard performance against Tennessee in October.

The 6-foot-6, 306-pound Duncan made an official visit to the Titans leading up to the NFL Draft, and he also participated in the Senior Bowl.

Whyle caught 88 passes for 1,062 yards for 15 touchdowns in his college career.

The Titans turned some heads on Day 2 of the NFL Draft when the team traded up to take Kentucky quarterback Will Levis in the second round. Also on Friday, the Titans picked Tulane running back Tyjae Spears in the third round.

Spears ran for 1,581 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2022 for the Green Wave, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. He also caught 22 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns.

Levis (6-4, 229) played in 24 games over two seasons at Kentucky, starting all 24 games. In 2022, Levis threw for 2,406 yards and 19 touchdowns, with 10 interceptions, as the Wildcats finished 7-4.

Less than 24 hours later after being selected 11th overall by the Titans in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Skoronski was in Music City driving past Nissan Stadium and having lunch with head coach Mike Vrabel.

Skoronski was a first-team Associated Press All-American in 2022, when he started 12 games. Skoronski (6-4, 315) started 33 games for Northwestern in three seasons.
