NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans added TE Matthew Mulligan to their roster and QB Alex Tanney to the practice squad. Additionally, the Titans placed TE Brett Brackett on injured reserve (knee).
Mulligan (6-4, 267) has five seasons and 67 games of NFL experience. Most recently, he played in two games for Chicago this season, after spending the entire 2013 season with the New England Patriots. Additionally, he has logged games with St. Louis (2012) and the New York Jets (2009-11). For his NFL career, Mulligan has 16 receptions, including two touchdowns, for 160 yards. Mulligan spent part of the 2008 season on the Titans practice squad. He began his career as an undrafted college free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2008, after a college career at the University of Maine.
Tanney (6-4, 220) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in 20012. He spent time on the practice squad with Dallas and on Cleveland's active roster in 2013. Tanney played his college football at Monmouth (Ill.), where he set NCAA Division III records, including passing yards (14,249) and passing touchdowns (157).
