(on the first half)
The defense played great except for the last drive of the first half. Really it was just one bad play for the defense. I thought they dominated the line of scrimmage, got great pressure on the quarterbacks and hit them a number of times. It was awesome. We should have put more points on the board than we did though. Then, they make one big play in the two-minute to give them some life and they got the touchdown. But overall the defense played really well. On offense, we put some points on the board. We made some plays, but we still blew too many opportunities when we could have put another 10 or 14 points on the board.
QB JAKE LOCKER
(on the offense's performance)
I thought it was kind of hot and cold from drive to drive. We had drives where we really put it together and were able to move the ball. I felt when we were successful on first down, then we were able to have a successful drive. So that will be a point of emphasis for us and something to focus on going forward.
(on if he felt more comfortable tonight)
I felt a little more comfortable today. We were able to move the ball throwing and have some big plays and have some chunk plays that obviously helped flip the field and allowed us to put some points on the board. So that was good. Still, we missed a few that we will be able to go back and look at and hopefully clean up.
LB COLIN McCARTHY
(on the defense being able to pressure the quarterback)
We knew this was the third game and the starters were going to get a lot of playing time. We wanted to make sure we looked good on film. I think we were chasing after the football, playing with a lot of intensity out there and feeding off each other. We came out and did what we wanted to do.
(on how he came up with his two interceptions) We were just playing good defense. I think our D-line was getting a lot of pressure up front, causing them to make bad decisions with the football. It's a whole defense. We are out there all running around, making plays. It's the D-line. They were doing a great job getting pressure all night. I think we got three or four sacks. That's the way our defense is. That's the way we have been building through this preseason. We are excited for Week 1 to come around.
