HEAD COACH MIKE MUNCHAK
(on the first half)
We had a good tackle on the kickoff play and then the defense with the turnover off the bat. They put the offense in great position but we didn't finish the drive, and then we missed the field goal. That's not the way you want to start on the offensive side. They got a couple of drives going and made some plays--that's going to happen--and we missed some tackles. They got some points on the board, but the good thing is that we answered finally with an 80-yard drive, which is what you have to do in this league. We're sitting here only down 3, so hopefully in the second-half we will go out there and take care of business.
(on how important the touchdown was at the end of the first half)
It was huge. We needed it. We just weren't playing smart, making some bad decisions. We couldn't convert, and it's hard to get going when you're out there for a three-and-out three times. We needed it badly and the offense did a great job with that.
WR NATE WASHINGTON
(on the importance of finishing the first half with a touchdown)
Scoring that late touchdown was very important. We didn't start out so well, but I think the composure showed. We hung in there and did some really good things. We put it all together and put a touchdown drive together before the half. It meant a lot to us as a group to get a touchdown on that drive.
(on finding a chemistry with Matt Hasselbeck)
I know the fans want to see a big show, but this doesn't come over night. We started off slow, but we got on the same page and put a lot of good things on film, a lot of things we can go off of. We'll continue to work and get things down.
S MICHAEL GRIFFIN
(on the starting defense's performance)
The Bears came out and really tried to move the ball. Coming off a bad loss last week, we knew they were going to come out and try to prove something. I think eventually we settled down and started to get things turned around. We contained them a little bit, and then the offense started stepping up.
(on his interception)
I played deep and went to help. Jason (McCourty) had great coverage on him. Somebody got their hands on the ball, tipped it, and I got my hands on the ball. Cortland got a good block, and we got some good yards after the pick. It was an important play, especially with the way we started last week with the deep ball. We started the game the way we wanted to this week with the turnover.
