TEAM NOTES

·      The Titans captains for the game were kicker Randy Bullock, offensive lineman Jordan Roos, running back Dontrell Hilliard and defensive lineman Larrell Murchison.

·      The starting offense for the Titans included quarterback Malik Willis; running back Dontrell Hilliard; wide receivers Robert Woods, Kyle Philips and Treylon Burks; tight end Chig Okonkwo; left tackle Christian DiLauro; left guard Dillon Radunz; center Corey Levin; right guard Jordan Roos; and right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere. Four rookies started on offense: Burks (first round), Willis (third round), Petit-Frere (third round) and Okonkwo (fourth round).

·      The starting defense included inside linebackers Chance Campbell and Dylan Cole; outside linebackers Rashad Weaver and Ola Adeniyi; defensive linemen Larrell Murchison and DeMarcus Walker; safeties Joshua Kalu, Lonnie Johnson Jr. and Theo Jackson; and cornerbacks Caleb Farley and Tre Avery. Three rookies started on defense: Campbell (sixth round), Jackson (sixth round) and Avery (undrafted).

·      Twenty-nine players on the 80-man roster did not play in the third and final preseason game.

·      The win gave the Titans a 2-1 preseason record for the second consecutive season. It was their the consecutive preseason in which they earned two wins (2019, 2021-22).

·      The Titans out-rushed the Cardinals 168 yards to 86 yards.

·      The Titans offense scored touchdowns on all three of its possessions in the red zone.

·      The Titans' preseason statistical leaders included quarterback Malik Willis (318 passing yards and 159 rushing yards), running back Hassan Haskins (eight receptions), wide receiver Racey McMath (75 receiving yards and 58 kickoff return yards), kicker Randy Bullock (four field goals and 19 total points), wide receiver Kyle Philips (93 punt return yards and an 18.6-yard punt return average), linebacker Joe Jones (one interception), outside linebacker David Anenih (three sacks) and inside linebacker Jack Gibbens (18 tackles).

·      The game was the final preseason opportunity for players to make a case to remain on the roster. On Tuesday, Aug. 30, NFL rosters are required to be cut down from 80 players to the regular-season limit of 53. Practice squads of up to 16 players can be established the following day.

DB UGO AMADI

·      Tied for the team lead with two passes defensed and added a tackle in his Titans preseason debut.

OLB DAVID ANENIH

·      Tied for the team lead with two passes defensed.

·      Led the defense during the preseason with three sacks.

K RANDY BULLOCK

·      Made a 51-yard field goal in the third quarter and a 50-yarder in the fourth quarter. He also made both of his extra point attempts.

·      Registered touchbacks on all six of his kickoff attempts against the Cardinals.

·      Made all five of his field goal attempts and all four of his extra point attempts and led the team with 19 total points in three preseason games.

WR TREYLON BURKS

·      Led the team with 33 receiving yards and tied for the team lead with three receptions, which included a touchdown.

·      Scored his first touchdown of the preseason on a 14-yard pass from Malik Willis in the second quarter.

·      Totaled four catches for 37 yards and a touchdown in three preseason games.

RB JULIUS CHESTNUT

·      Recorded 27 yards and a touchdown on nine rushing attempts.

·      Scored his first touchdown of the preseason on a three-yard carry in the second quarter.

·      Finished second on the team during the preseason with 106 rushing yards on 26 carries.

RB HASSAN HASKINS

·      Totaled 11 yards on nine rushing attempts and 16 yards on three receptions. He tied for team lead in catches.

·      Rushed for 69 yards on a team-high 27 carries in three preseason games.

S THEO JACKSON

·      Led the defense with nine total tackles.

·      Credited with a special teams fumble recovery in the fourth quarter. He recovered the ball after it was muffed on a punt return by attempt by Victor Bolden Jr.

WR MASON KINSEY

·      Tied for the team lead with three receptions for 18 yards and added three punt returns for 35 yards (11.7 average), including an 18-yard return.

WR RACEY McMATH

·      Caught a 26-yard pass from Malik Willis in the third quarter.

·      Rushed for a 17-yard gain in the third quarter.

TE CHIG OKONKWO

·      Tied for the team lead with three receptions for 22 yards.

DT SAM OKUAYINONU

·      Tied for second place on the team with seven tackles, including a sack.

·      Recorded a strip-sack on the final play of the game, knocking the ball out of the hands of Cardinals quarterback Jarrett Guarantano (recovered by Cardinals).

P RYAN STONEHOUSE

·      Averaged 49.4 gross yards and 41.6 net yards on seven punts, including three punts placed inside the 20.

·      Pinned the Cardinals on their own seven-yard line with a 64-yard punt in the second quarter.

·      Led the team with 13 punts, a 50.2-yard gross average and six punts placed inside the 20 in three preseason games.

QB MALIK WILLIS

·      Started his third consecutive preseason game and completed 15 of 23 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown with one interception (76.5 passer rating).

·      Added a team-high 79 rushing yards on four attempts. He recorded the most rushing yards by a Titans player in a preseason game since Dalyn Dawkins' 117 rushing yards against Chicago on Aug. 29, 2019.

·      Recorded a 50-yard rushing attempt to set up a touchdown in the second quarter. It was the longest run by a Titans player in a preseason contest since David Fluellen's 53-yard run against Carolina on Aug. 19, 2017.

·      Completed a 26-yard pass to wide receiver Racey McMath in the third quarter.

·      In three preseason starts, he completed 28 of 51 passes for 318 yards with a pair of touchdowns and one interception (78.7 passer rating). He also led the team with 159 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

WR ROBERT WOODS

·      Started in his first live action since a knee injury ended his 2021 season with the Los Angeles Rams. He caught one pass for three yards.

QB LOGAN WOODSIDE

·      Entered the game in the fourth quarter with the Titans trailing 23-19. He engineered a 12-play, 75-yard, game-winning touchdown drive that concluded with his nine-yard touchdown run on fourth down with 52 seconds remaining. He completed five of nine passes for 43 yards during the series.
