NASHVILLE – The Titans have agreed to terms with outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi, bringing the emotional sparkplug back to the team.
Adeniyi's return, on a one-year deal, will also boost the team's special teams units while adding additional depth to the pass rush.
Signed by the Titans last offseason after playing his first three NFL seasons with the Steelers, Adeniyi played in 16 games in 2021. Adeniyi finished the year with 30 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 20 quarterback pressures and two tackles for a loss while also contributing with 10 stops on special teams.
An alternate for the Pro Bowl in 2021 for his work on special teams, Adeniyi played 207 defensive snaps for the Titans last season while also logging 319 snaps on special teams.
In 48 career games, Adeniyi has registered 24 special teams tackles.
During a two-game stretch against the Seahawks and Colts early in the season, Adeniyi recorded 2.5 sacks, four quarterback pressures and five tackles. Adeniyi dropped Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson for a 12-yard sack at the Seattle one-yard line in overtime of the team's win. It was Adeniyi's first career sack.
Born in Nigeria, Adeniyi (ah-DAY-nee) originally joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2018 after playing in college at Toledo.
