NASHVILLE – The Titans have agreed to terms with former 49ers linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
Al-Shaair was signed by the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2019, when current Titans general manager Ran Carthon served as director of pro personnel in San Francisco.
In four seasons with the 49ers, Al-Shaair (6-2, 228) played in 56 career games, making 31 starts. He's been credited with 199 tackles and two sacks in his career, with six passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Al-Shaair played in 12 games in 2022, when he recorded 44 tackles, but he was sidelined five games with a knee injury. The versatile linebacker had the best year of his career in 2021 when he tallied 102 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, two tackles and an interception.
Al-Shaair played in college at Florida Atlantic University, where he registered 397 tackles, 32.5 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks while appearing in 42 games (42 starts) during his four-year career.
The addition of Al-Shaair comes after former Titans linebacker David Long Jr. reached a deal with the Dolphins.
