NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with quarterback Rusty Smith.

The Titans selected Smith out of Florida Atlantic with their first of two sixth-round selections (176th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft. The Jacksonville, Fla., native started 45 career games for the Owls and completed 768 of 1,361 passes for 10,112 yards with 76 touchdowns and 36 interceptions.

The 6-foot-5-inch, 226-pounder enjoyed his most successful season as a sophomore in 2007, when he was named Sun Belt Player of the Year after connecting on 281 of 479 passes for 3,688 yards with 32 touchdowns.

He led FAU to its second consecutive bowl game as a junior and was named Motor City Bowl MVP after throwing for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Smith was on his way to another strong campaign as a senior before his season was cut short after just seven games when he suffered an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

The Titans now have agreed to terms with five (Verner, Smith, Rolle, Mariani and Howard) of their nine 2010 draft picks.
