Titans agree to terms with 7th-round pick Williams

NASHVILLE, TN, July 18, 2007 –The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with cornerback Cary Williams.

The Titans selected Williams with their seventh-round selection (229th overall) out of Washburn University. The 6-foot-2-inch, 190-pounder emerged from his senior season with consensus NCAA Division II All-American honors after he led the team with seven interceptions. He spent three years (2005-07), including one redshirt season, with the Ichabods after playing his first two college seasons at Fordham University.

In his time at Washburn, he started all 23 games and totaled 94 tackles, 11 interceptions, 12 passes defensed and one fumble recovery. Additionally, he returned 27 kickoffs for 689 yards (25.5 avg.) and two touchdowns and had one reception for a 68-yard touchdown.

The Titans have now agreed to terms with three of their seven draft choices. The team opens training camp on July 25th.
