On what went wrong today…
We just didn't make the play we needed to make. I felt like that was the biggest thing. We had some really good drives, don't get me wrong, but the consistency just wasn't there. Hats off to the Jets. Zach Wilson is a great quarterback. I think he's going to be a great quarterback moving forward in this league. We just didn't make the plays we needed to make. We have to be more consistent. We stopped the run. We got an early turnover, but we didn't get enough of those going into the game. In these types of games we have to play well. We have to play better than their defense and we didn't do that.
On if he's surprised they couldn't make a stop after they went up 17-10…
It's not surprising when we give up big plays. That's the overall theme of today for our defense: Big plays. We talk about this all the time, it's not like this is things we don't talk about, we just didn't do it today. We're not going to sit up here. We're not going to make any excuses. We just didn't make the plays we needed to make to win the ball game.
On their timing issues…
Us as a defense, or us as team, we're just not understanding how to play complimentary football right now. When the offense makes a big play, we have to go out there and make a stop. When you don't do that, things aren't going to go well. Just because they are 0-3 doesn't mean they are a bad team. We saw what happened last year against Cincinnati. We didn't come out here and play well enough on the road. That's the bottom line. We even talked about it in the locker room. This team is 0-3, they may be going through some struggles. You want to come out and get on them early because if you don't, you give them hope and that's what they did. They built up confidence, started getting the momentum going and you end up losing.
