S Amani Hooker

231029final

Defense has been talking about getting turnovers for a few weeks now. How did it feel to finally get a couple?

Yeah, it felt good. That's something that we harped on all week. Especially during the bye week, in the practices that we had then. And it's always great to do it on game day.

Obviously getting a lot of pressure on (Desmond) Ridder today, forced him into a couple of mistakes. How big was that?

Huge. They're a running team, but he's going to drop back, so we wanted to make sure that we got after him and disrupt the passing game.  So, we did a great job of affecting the middle of the pocket. And on the back end, we did a good job. We let up some explosive plays on our end, but at the end of day, we did our best to try to do the job, and drive stop.

You see a rookie quarterback go out there today, like (Will) Levis did, light it up and really keep the offense moving and scoring points. What does that do for the defense in terms of just keeping them engaged and pumped up on the side?

Yeah, it gives up confidence. We work off them, they work off us. So, if they're doing good, we get that same energy, and vice versa. So, kudos to Will (Levis) and the offense for doing what they did today. And we know they're going to continue to do that, as well.

To get to 3-4 on the season, and not a lot of time to celebrate before you go to Pittsburgh on Thursday. What's the mindset got to be here, in the next few days?

Short week. Get your body right. Get your mind right. And it's time to start looking at the playbook today?
