SAFETY AMANI HOOKER
It seemed like today, losing this game was not going to be an option for you guys.
We were fighting the whole day. You could feel it throughout the whole game. No matter what situation we were put in, we responded.
How tough was that last play in regulation, where Drake (Maye) is scrambling around, and somehow finds (Rhamondre) Stevenson for the touchdown, and you've got to go to overtime?
It was tough. I'm glad it was for overtime, and not for a win. We got another chance to go back out there. That play was tough. You want to get off the field and feel the game, but they're professionals too, and they made a play.
Tell us about your two interceptions today.
The first one, we were playing zone coverage, reading the eyes of the quarterback, and he threw it to me. A similar situation. I'm in a deep zone, and he launched it up, I got to come down with it. The play's in my zone.
How good did it feel to get not only a win, but a win at home?
It feels great. The fans needed it. We needed it as a locker room and a coaching staff. We have worked hard and our record is not how we feel we are. Obviously, it doesn't matter, you got to play it. We've got a good group of guys here, good leadership and we fought hard.
Is this a character win?
I hope every win is a character win. Hopefully we can build on this. We got the Chargers next week, and come back with another win.
What pride do you take in b*eing a leader on this defense and making a game-changing plays?*
I try to be in the right spot. Trust in my guys throughout the week, our film study. All game long, we're talking about what we see. I mean, they help me out. We help each other out. So, credit to my guys that help me be in that position to lead. And just got to try to take advantage of all of the opportunities.
Do you feel like you're playing your best ball with two picks this week and one last week?
Yeah I mean, I think I'm playing good ball right now. Maybe it would feel better if we had a lot more wins. But you know, this is a good start.
