QUARTERBACK WILL LEVIS
How do you feel like you played today considering some of the adversity that you guys faced this afternoon?
Pretty well, thought I was able to make plays when I needed to at some points, but I missed some opportunities on others. I'm really just focused on those, how I can get better in those situations, a couple of third downs where I feel like I could have either put a good—better ball on or found a different answer. But overall, just proud of how the guys made plays for the most part. Just got to keep building.
The officiating calls, was that palpable in the huddle, was it frustrating?
I was just trying to use it as motivation. We feel like we've kind of had our backs against the wall in that respect all year. And we got just to fight our way out of it. And I thought we did a good job of overcoming some of those calls. And I know we only got three out of that one drive, but not letting it faze us and just stepping forward.
You seem to have found the deep balls, some comfortable spots there throughout the game. Can you walk us through that? Was it something that changed this week on practice or was it just some looks that they were giving you?
We just got the looks. Yeah, I'm not just throwing it up for the sake of it. I mean, I just feel like we had the looks to take those shots and took them when we had them.
What was the feeling after the deep ball to NWI (Nick Westbrook-Ikhine)? Can you talk about how that play kind of developed in your eyes?
Yeah, that was sweet. We're backed up, got to be smart with the ball. Saw the corner and safety communicating their palms in that over there and we had an outbreaking route, so I knew the corner was going to cut his feet when Chig (Okonkwo) had the outbreaker, separated the hands a little bit, saw that, let it ride over the top. Luckily put enough on it to get it behind that safety and Nick (Westbrook-Ikhine) made a good catch and it's a really fun jog down the field.
Does this loss feel different for you coming out of the game where you feel like you played pretty well compared to some of the others?
I don't know. I mean, honestly, I felt like last week in terms of just how I threw the ball, I was more accurate and I made some better decisions here and there. But I was a little frustrated with a couple of the balls that I'm going to be watching on tape. But I just—all I want to do is win man, nothing else matters. And it's been frustrating. It's been tough. But I mean, I haven't won a game this year. I'm chasing that feeling and I'm doing everything I can to get there.
You talked about using some of the calls as motivation at the end of this game when you had overcome so much and didn't work out. Was there frustration in the locker room about how it played out?
A little bit. I think coach made the comment just to try to limit your comments, that's not going to help us at all. So we just got to focus on what we can. We feel like everyone in the building is doing the right thing and is coming to work preparing, and when we do get the opportunities on Sunday, guys are playing their hearts out. And at some point or another, things are going to shake in our favor we feel like and it just hasn't been that way, but all you can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other.
You talked a lot this week about expecting to have to handle a lot of pressures. Just how do you feel like you did today with people in your face?
Awesome. They stopped running zero because we kept ripping them. So that was really cool to feel. Dang, there was another one where I was able to pop a screen off in that two-minute drill, and I couldn't get the throw off and that could have been good. But I thought for the most part, our plan against zero was great and we just got to be more consistent in the other areas.
